Paris Workshop

I am running a two day workshop in Paris on 13th and 14th of November whichpromises to be very exciting. We will be shooting bridal and fashion around several amazing locations in the city. Using available light and off camera flash techniques you will be shooting images to remember in this amazing city.

You can book for one day or both, the choice is yours, but there are limited spaces to keep it more hands-on. There will be demonstrations as well as an opportunity for everyone to have their turn at shooting under instruction.

We will cover: finding locations, posing, choosing the correct lighting, shooting with the final image in mind, and some photoshop techniques and much much more!

Landscape Photography Weekend at Mackays Hotel, Wick

2 night Photography Course in the Mystical county of Caithness  – £375/person

Mackays Hotel have joined with John Baikie Photography, an award winning photographer based in Caithness,  to offer a 2 night Photography break .

Your weekend will start on Friday night with a drinks reception and buffet and presentation by John.

On Saturday, after a full Scottish breakfast to set you up for the day, John will take you out for the day to practice your techniques on our amazing scenery!

Once back at the hotel, after a ‘wee’ rest you will enjoy a mouth watering dinner and an opportunity to appreciate all the photos taken during the day.

Sunday morning will be taken up with a round up of the weekend and after a satisfying 2 course lunch you will head home buzzing with new techniques to use!

If you want to extend your stay we have a special Dinner, Bed and Breakfast rate for you of £90 for the Sunday night.  All rooms are double for sole occupancy and full payment is required at the time of booking.

One 2 One Days

I’m now offering one 2 one training days at a great price of only £395! It can be up here in the Highlands or I can come to you (travel expenses extra), and can be on any subject you feel you need help with. Wedding or portrait photography, marketing, photoshop, off camera flash, video light, whatever you need help with!

Beginners Course Last Month

Last months beginners SLR course at Castletown Heritage Centre was a big success, with folk travelling from Inverness and the Black Isle to join the local attendees for a day full of learning. Everyone went away with a good understanding of how their camera worked and (hopefully) all are now off the automatic mode! We covered exposure in great depth, as well as how the camera actually works, and went into all the settings on the camera and what they do. We looked at different methods to get different results using depth of field and exposure compensation. I am hoping to run this course again very soon, so keep in touch if you are interested in attending!

Highland Wedding Workshop

PLEASE NOTE THIS COURSE HAS BEEN MOVED TO EARLY NEXT YEAR

Get away from the hectic city life for 3 days of photographic workshop in the far North Highlands of Scotland. We will shoot at castles, ruins and in beautiful rugged scenery using various lighting set ups and techniques. You will get a chance to shoot in the amazing locations we are blessed with up here, with big moody skies and dramatic backdrops. The workshop will be 3 full days, and will include advice on shooting with available light, off camera flash and video light, as well as posing the bride and groom for natural images. We will also spend some time working on getting the very best from your images post-shoot with your editing. We will cover making the most of limited time. Shooting in difficult locations. Working with the weather. Post wedding shoots and much much more!

You’ll go home relaxed and full of inspiration and knowledge to take your wedding photography onto another level.

If you are interested let me know ASAP. I am aiming for 16th-19th November.  The plan would be for folk to arrive at various times on Monday and leave late Thursday, although if anyone needs to stay an extra night that won’t be difficult to fix up. We’ll be based up in Caithness, not far from Thurso (google maps will show you how far North it is!).

Beginners SLR Course
